Nellie Quinn is a fabulous fiddler and also happens to have been raised in the area but is now living in England and who has done a previous feature at Deep Cove Folk to much acclaim. This time she will be accompanied by her musical partner Alex.
A resurgence, an awakening and a meeting place between old friends – welcome to the Celtic fiddle collaboration Punters Reunion.
Having grown up in Victoria, Canada and Drumnadrochit, Northern Scotland respectively, these two diverse fiddler players met through infamous traditional session scene of Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. They draw upon their experience as performers, composers, tutors and collaborators reuniting for what promises to be a spectacular series of concer…ts.
“We are players, from two distinct styles and traditions” remarks Quinn. “This project is very much a celebration of our common ground and stylistic nuances.”
Their blend of traditional and modern Celtic folk music captivate you! This collaboration will provide it’s audience with dynamic and vivacious renditions of tunes old and new. Punters Reunion will take the listeners on a voyage of discovery and hope to share some of the jubilant experiences that their musical relationship has brought to them.
