My Back Pages play the 60/70s folk sounds of Greenwich Village, Laurel Canyon and more. There, artists, poets, writers, and musicians exchanged ideas that influenced a new generation. Songs of peace, love, and protest written by up-and-coming folk artists like Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Gordon Lightfoot, Cat Stevens, Jackson Browne and many others. From the 50’s Woody Guthrie through to the 70’s folk-rock artists like The Byrds, explore the many interconnections between these artists and how they gave us today’s music.
Steve, Carolyn, and Ryan previously formed the core of the Balm In Gilead Band. They and many local musician friends hosted numerous concerts over the past decade to raise thousands of dollars for charity. Stepping out now on the secular side, this trio of a former music teacher, a church musician, a bass-man about town, faithfully recall the spirit of the times.
