Vancouver based folk musician Brian Robertson has been called a genuine BC treasure for his well-crafted and entertaining songs about the west coast, as well as some that reflect more universal themes of love, travel, social justice and the blues. Born and raised in Powell River on the west coast of Canada, his working life suggests something of renaissance man – fisherman, mill worker, cabbie, engineer, economist and historical consultant. From that, and his extensive travels and interests, spring the range, depth and authenticity of the songs he’s written. www.brianrobertson.ca
Filling out the Brian Robertson Trio are the sensational BC Open Champion fiddler Michael Burnyeat (https://www.facebook.com/people/Michael-Burnyeat/100009336078372) and the much-acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Victor Smith (http://wheatinthebarley.com/bio.html)
Looking forward to the concert tonight. I haven’t seen Brian since around 1965 when he lived next door to us, the Hinds family in Powell River. Marty was unable to come over from North Van and Gloria who lives in Victoria doesn’t drive at night anymore and Hazel still lives in Powelll River. So my wife and I will be there to represent the Townsite.
