The Carolina Bluebirds are thrilled to be joined by Rick Van Krugel (mandolin) and Dave Klassen (bass) for a fun evening of music from a variety of genres: folk, early jazz, blues and country. Ian Johnston plays guitar and banjo ukulele, and Caroline’s warm vocals balance nicely with his ragtime picking. Over the years Rick has inspired musicians and wowed audiences from here to the Far East. Tonight will be no exception. Dave is an extremely versatile double bassist who has played everything from punk to bluegrass (not at the same time). As the Garden City Blue Blowers, Ian, Dave and Rick played here a number of times and tonight will be a reunion of old friends.
The Bluebirds have entertained audiences at folk clubs, festivals, and markets and are delighted to be returning here. The collaboration of these four lovelies will be memorable.
