The Hoss Mountain Stringband is a local success story that has been building fans since forming a little more than a year ago. They came together through their connections with the Victoria bluegrass scene, including the Victoria Bluegrass Association’s Tuesday night jam sessions. Playing an eclectic mix of old and new bluegrass with deep connections to old-time and swing, the band combines two established players on the local scene — Mike Kraft, banjo; and Alan Law, dobro — with dedicated newcomers Paul Moquin, guitar; Kris Boyd, mandolin; Mark Johnson, bass; and Josh Miszczak, violin.
