Yahoo!!!! Deep Cove Folk is getting geared up for another exciting season of live, acoustic music on the Peninsula! We’re so pumped, in fact, that we’ve decided to have TWO events this September.
The first event is a special get together that will give us all a chance to sing together and hear some new voices. It will also be a chance to talk about the club—it’s place in the community, its future and anything else you think we could be doing. Please plan to come, make your ideas known, and enjoy some great participative, community music. Admission is free and there’ll be free goodies too. This meeting will take place Friday September 6, 7:00 at St. John’s United Church (10990 West Saanich Road).
Our second September event, a week later, will be our regular club night. We’ll have our regular open mic and the feature performer will be Kat Eggleston. Originally based in Chicago, and now residing in Washington State, Kat is a singer, guitarist, songwriter and playwright. She’s performed and taught internationally for more than 30 years, creating many solo and collaborative recordings. This is a very special concert that you dare not miss. Kat will be performing Friday September 13, 7:30 (doors open at 7:00), admission $15.00, also at St. John’s United Church.
So help us usher in our new season with a flurry—come to both events, meet your neighbours, and celebrate the joy of live, acoustic music in a warm, community setting. This promises to be quite the season…..
