We’re really pumped about Deep Cove Folk’s show on December 8! Our good friend and long-time supporter, Cathy Miller will be the feature act. It’ll be really special. Her amazing voice, excellent guitar work, superb stories, and great stage work combine to make her one of the finest performers we’ve ever had on our stage. Understandably, she’s performed for us quite often (Dec 2002, Jan 2007, Dec 2007, Dec 2012, Oct 2018 as a feature and numerous open stages too). Please join us for a lovely evening of the best in acoustic music—a show not to be missed.
Cathy’s originality not only bubbles up in her music but also in her intriguing work as a fibre artist. I’ve found that the more I get to know the folks who grace our stage, the more the best of them tend to be accomplished in many different spheres—sign of a restless creative spirit that infuses their entire lives. Cathy is no exception to this.
Imagine being able to take a few swatches of cloth and create a design like this Celtic Knot. And, inspired by some of Chris Hadfield’s photos from space, she created this intriguing eagle’s eye view of our small planet—again out of a bit of cloth and hours of hard work—amazing.
These quilts are indications of Cathy’s enduring creative spirit, a spirit that will be on full display when she takes the stage at Deep Cove Folk on Friday December 8—a show you’ll not want to miss.
