A staple of the Vancouver Island folk scene for over 10 years from the mid 90s to 2005, Virgo Rising is back with their glo…rious vocal harmonies supported by tasty instrumental licks on a plethora of instruments, all served up with a generous dollop of fun. Virgo Rising’s distinctive sound is rooted in diverse influences, from the folk revival of the 50s & 60s and the traditional flavours of Celtic and World music, to the songs of contemporary folk songwriters, including a few of their own. There are always lots of songs with choruses, with encouragement to sing along! Their 1997-vintage CD, Voices Entwined, is a classic, and is available for those who missed it the first time around, or have worn theirs out singing along with it (there are even some cassettes left, which we are told are becoming Cool again).
